What actually happens on the night?

Six people arrive at a restaurant at 19:30. You give the name StrangerHour at the door. It runs about two hours, and there's a conversation deck in the app for when the table wants a push. Some tables carry on somewhere else afterwards; plenty don't.

How are the tables put together?

From the questions you answered when you joined. We keep the age range tight, mix introverts and extroverts, seat people who share a language, and match budgets so nobody's uncomfortable with the bill. Once the group exists we pick a restaurant to suit it — that's why the venue comes late.

Why don't I get the restaurant until the day before?

Because we choose it after we know who's at the table. Group first, venue second — the opposite of a normal booking.

Question 4

What does it cost?

AED 49 a month, less on the longer plans, which covers unlimited dinners. Food and drink are yours and usually come to AED 100–180.

Question 5

What if I can't make it?

Release your seat in the app, free, until 23:59 two days before. After that we've booked the table and told five people you're coming, so a no-show fee applies.

What if the dinner doesn't fill?

If a night can't reach six we cancel it, tell everyone, and charge nothing. A table of three is worse than no table.

Is this a dating app?

Accepted Answer

No. Tables are mixed and matched on how you'd get on, not on attraction. People do meet people — but nobody browses anybody here, and there's no swiping.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes. From your booking, send a link or ask someone you've met at a previous table. They'll be seated with you if there's room.

Can I choose who I'm seated with?

Accepted Answer

Not directly — that's rather the point. You can block someone, and blocked people are never seated with you again.

How do I cancel?

Two taps from your account page. You keep booking rights until the end of the period you've paid for, and your messages stay open after that.
