Terms of membership

What a membership buys

Access to book StrangerHour dinners while it's active. It does not include food or drink — you settle the restaurant bill yourself, and most tables spend AED 100–180 a head.

Who can join

Anyone 18 or over, joining for themselves rather than for a business, who hasn't previously been removed from the platform.

Booking and cancelling

• Booking opens seven days before each dinner.
• Release a seat free until 23:59 two days before. After that the table is booked and five people have been told you're coming.
• Miss a dinner without releasing your seat and a no-show fee of 35% of the monthly price is added to your next invoice.
• Three or more late cancellations inside two months can lead to a suspension.
• Any penalty can be appealed within 30 days.

Payment

• Memberships renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the period you've paid for.
• Subscription charges are not refundable, except where local consumer law requires it.
• Deleting the app does not cancel a membership.

The restaurants

We choose and book the venue; we don't run its kitchen. The restaurant is responsible for the preparation and safety of its food. Dietary preferences guide which venue we pick — they are not a guarantee, and anyone with a serious allergy should speak to the restaurant directly.

What isn't allowed

Bringing someone who isn't booked, using the platform to sell or recruit, creating a second account after removal, or sharing another member's private information. The community guidelines set out the rest.
